The Concierge suggested 3 different ways, bus, metro or taxi. As an example I decided to go to the Bronx Zoo. Some of the Concierge employees were less than helpful. The grand food court locate in the lower floor was gone, and, according to the employees, would not return. All the greatness of the hotel that we had experienced in the past seemed to have past. I don't think I would stay at the Plaza again, unfortunately. I've just emailed to ask for a copy of invoice, as I never got one and I would appreciate at least to look at it, being that it's over $6000, I don't dispute any of the charges (I think), but I would like to at lease see it. I think our dinner bill was around $600, including a $250 bottle of wine so I did expect faster service. We had dinner Friday night and the service was very, very slow. Luckily a doorman saw me and helped me, but really it was because I was struggling to use the revolving door. Upon leaving, I had my luggage (carryon only) trying to manoeuvre my Louis Vuitton luggage through the revolving doors, as there were big signs saying 'to please use them'. I was disappointed there was no pool, which I hadn't realized. Our complimentary drink gifts were not given at checkin, but when we passed the desk and asked, they had them ready for us. Sometimes, it's just some desserts or cheese, or something like that. It seems that most times, when I stay there is a welcome gift in the room at some point. Go through the tunnel, pay toll and follow onto (495) Long Island Expressway East (LIE). Take left-hand entrance to Queens-Midtown Tunnel. Go right onto 2nd Avenue to 36th Street. Cross 5th Avenue bearing left around traffic circle to light. Take 3rd Avenue to 60th Street and make a left onto 60th Street to 5th Avenue. At first traffic light make a right onto 3rd Avenue. Once through tunnel bear right onto 37th Street. Take Van Wyck Expressway North to Long Island Expressway West to Queens-Midtown Tunnel.
